Music review- Carolina Chocolate Drops

 
The string band from Durham, North Carolina which goes by the name Carolina Chocolate Drops was formed in 2005. The band made their debut album 'Dona Got a Ramblin' mind in 2006 which however did not make it. The band shot to success in the 53rd Annual academy Award when its album, Genuine Negro Jig, won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album. It was number 9 in F Roots magazine's top 10 albums of 2010.
The songs are mostly based on traditional music of Piedmont region of North and South Carolina and they band members have a perfect harmony while playing guitar, snare drum, Kazoo, Fiddle, 5 String Banjo, Tambourine, Bones, Jug and Cello.
